A Principal Member can cover their biological/adoptive parent/s and/or their in-laws under the Standard benefit Option or High benefit Option.
The covered parent will have their own medical aid cover with full benefits specific to them.
The principal member will be liable to pay 100% of the monthly contributions for the parent dependent. However, it is worth noting that the continued membership of the parent dependent shall be subject to the substantive principal member continuing to be an active member.
The parent dependent should:
Not be more than 65 years of age.
Not be a pensioner as defined by the scheme rules.
